Fall Color Field Trip, October 2009

Field Trips

Our photo adventure began at the Coffee Cantina in Frazier Park. Yummy Mochas! Eighteen photographers met, and ride sharing was arranged. After a quick cup of coffee, the group headed out to catch the nice morning light.

Our first stop was in Cuddy Valley, where we were greeting by a very inquisitive llama. A grove of brilliant yellow Cottonwood Trees was waiting to be photographed. Old farm equipment and wooden wagons were nearby.

The Pine Mountain Club Lake was our next stop, where ducks flocked towards the photographers, thinking we had bread crumbs to offer. Fall colors surrounded the lake, and made for some gorgeous reflections on the water.

The last two stops were on the way to Mt. Pinos. Pockets of colorful Oak Trees, with yellow and orange leaves could be found alongside the road.

Afterwards, the group met for lunch at the Coffee Cantina, and exchanged stories. An impromptu field trip meeting, to get ideas for upcoming trips, followed. A few visited the art gallery behind the Cantina, where Lori and April have some of their work displayed.

The trip was great! Thank you Lori for showing us all of your favorite fall color spots in Frazier Park. Lori provided us with a nice map, kept the group moving along (and together too!). Thank you to Lori and April for putting together such a nice field trip.
