The Lancaster Photography Association submitted prints and digital images from four local high schools to the PSA Youth Photography Showcase. Highland High School (Christine Van Allen), Knight High School (Erin Jones), Lancaster High School (Kiley Craft), and Quartz Hill High School (Mike Mitch) all participated. These images will all be displayed at the PSA Annual Conference held in San Francisco, CA, this year. A special thanks go to the instructors who have supported the PSA Youth Photography Showcase.

LPA Leads PSA Creative Interclub Group B


Club News

Lancaster Photography Association is leading the PSA Creative Interclub Group B after three rounds.

Eryn Avatar (Kurtiss Humphrey) and Lady in Pink (Nan Carder) both received Awards, and Tulips (Pat Ware) and Old Diner (Dale Ware) received HMs.

There is one competition left for the year. All images that have received Awards this season will be submitted for the PSA Best of the Best year end awards. That will include Celebrating Onions  (Carol Moss), Day Tripping in LA (Helen Henry), Balloon Fantasy (Bill Sutton), Eryn Avatar (Kurtiss Humphrey) and Lady in Pink (Nan Carder). So far this year Celebrating Onions, Day Tripping in LA, and Lady in Pink have had a perfect score of 15.

PSA CPID Results


Club News

Congratulations to Dee Hunter (Lucas-Vintage) and Diana Edgel (Moonbow), for both winning an Honorable Mention at the last PSA CPID Group B Interclub competition.

This will be the last PSA CPID competition. Next year there will be a new division to replace both the CPID and EID Divisions.

Congratulations unofficially goes to the following S4C winners in the final competition this year: In Skill Level A, Doug Wade (Cassie) won an award and Marv Brimer (Juvenile Golden Eagle) won an Honorable Mention. In Skill Level AA, Sue Craft (Yosemite Valley View in Fall) and Dee Hunter (Kitten) won an Award, and Sue Liberto (Barn Owl Take Off) won an Honorable Mention. Any image in S4C that has won an Award or Honorable Mention is eligible for a year end award.
 

Third PSA EID Interclub Results


Club News

The Lancaster Photography Association members did well at the third Electronic Image Division Interclub for March.

Winning awards were Moonbow (Diana Edgel), Sunset at the Naples Pier (David Wilkins), and Wedding Shoes (Arliss Dawson).

Winning Honorable Mentions were Lucas-Vintage (Dee Hunter) and Reflections at the Wave (Chris Wilkins).

Be sure to participate in the last PSA Photojournalism Interclub Competition. Entries can be uploaded at the LPA Competition upload area on the LPA web site. We hope to do more of the open entries to PSA and S4C if there is interest from our members. If there is not any interest, we will continue submitting PSA and S4C interclub images as we have been doing the past few years.

Third PSA Photojournalism Interclub


Club News

Results have been received for the third Photojournalism Interclub Competition. Winners were Chainsaw Grandpa (Glenn Olson) 1st Honorable Mention, Human Interest, and Tour de California (Sue Craft) 2nd Honorable Mention, Photojournalism Open. Other LPA members images submitted were The Wait (Larry Boswell), Working the Dog (Helen Henry), Kern River Davis (Tom Van Langenhoven), and Up in the Air (Nan Carder).

LPA placed 6th out of 19 clubs.

Be sure to submit Photojournalism entries in the LPA Competition area. Be sure to select the PSA Interclub Photojournalism. Members who enter will do the selection again.

George Glennie Nature Competition 2012 Results


Club News

The results have been announced for the George W.Glennie Memorial Nature Salon, and the Lancaster Photography Association (LPA) has done very well. Diana' Edgel's Moonbow won Best Landscape. Don Bennett (Cheetahs), Sue Craft (Yosemite Valley View in Fall), and Chris Wilkins (Elephant SEal Gladiators) all won Merit Awards.

The Lancaster Photography Association ended up tied for 17th out of 94 clubs. This is the best placing that LPA has had in the three years that LPA has competed. More information can be found at the following web site:  http://mvcameraclub.org/Glennie/glennie-2012-results.htm
