Meeting & Competition, October 18, 2005

We had a large turnout for this month’s meeting. We counted 38 members on our sign-in sheet and  seven guests, two of which signed up as new members..

There were quite a few entries in both prints and slides for our competition, so we delayed starting a few minutes while all the entries were being processed.

Of course with so many new guests, Darlene had her hands full greeting them all and getting a bit of info from them so she could introduce them. Everyone enjoys that pre-meeting social time anyway.

• John gave everyone a quick update on all the latest club news.
• Dave Anderson announced our upcoming field trips.
• Bob Lion had a few words about the next night’s program, which is a joint effort between AVMUG and LPA.
• Lyle filled us in on our upcoming Cedar Center Exhibit and had copies of the rules available.

We finally made a decision on our LPA Logo. There were seven entries submitted, including our original Logo.

Pat Ware took charge of organizing and conducting the vote.

When the tally was taken, the entry submitted by Duane Whitaker was the winner. It won by one vote over our old design.

Thanks to Duane and everyone else who took the time and effort to design entries for consideration.
