Meeting & Competition, January 24, 2006

Over 53 people showed for this evenings program...   Competition Night!

We had many beautiful entries in all four categories, and over 30 entries in the slide competition.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our judge from S4C was not able to make it.  Kay's tap dancing, one liners, and humorous improvisations made the awkwardness of the situation especially entertaining.

We  were fortunate enough to be able to call upon some of our highly qualified members to judge and critique all the entries.  Thank you to Lyle Trusty, Fred Frederickson, Dave Arnold, Tylene Trout, and Kay Hendrickson.  Combined, they must have had close to two hundred years of photographic experience!

Thank you to all the entrants.  It was a delight to see your works of art.  Congratulations to the ribbon winners!

We still get to look forward to having the S4C judge come, as she is scheduled for the March competition.  The theme will be “Wood”, so start thinking creatively about what you can do with that fun theme.

Upcoming events to look forward to are:  LMAG  21st Annual All Media Art Exhibit beginning January 28th, and the LPA field trip to Las Vegas on February 7th., where you can practice your night/indoor photography skills.

One of the benneys of being a club member is sometimes you just make out.

Arley Clark gave out a free 512mb Sony memory stick to one of the 5 members that had a use for one. Around a $50 dollar value.
