Coast Field Trip, June 24-25, 2006

Once a year, John Wells goes all out and puts together a field trip.  With a lot of thought, planning and coordination, he decided to do something a bit different this year and take us on a weekend trip to one of the prettiest areas of South-Central California.  The trip included three historic missions (Santa Ines, La Purisma, and Santa Barbara), the unique little Danish town of Solvang, with its many shops, bakeries and Danish architecture, the fields of flowers at Lompoc, and Stearn’s Wharf in Santa Barbara.

While everyone in Lancaster was cooking in 100+ degree temperatures, our group was enjoying the cool ocean breeze.  It was actually cool enough to need a jacket in the evening.  When we weren't out taking in the sights, or resting, we were enjoying each others company over breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

This was another great trip put together by John.  It was well planned and we all had a good time and came back with some great photos.
