Meeting & Competition, July 15, 2008

Tuesday was the first night of David Anderson’s presidency. We started the evening with a competition. The theme was travel, and did we travel! From Bryce Canyon, to Germany, Tanzania, Marakesh, Japan and Taiwan, just to name a few of the places.

Don Bennett, Fred Griggs and Tylene Trout were the judges. The October competition will be an “Open” theme. Hank Morris will be the judge.

After the refreshment break, Tylene Trout introduced several guests. David announced that Bonnie Matthews will be taking over the Secretary duties, as Sharon Martinez has a work conflict and is unable to always attend evening meetings. John Shedrick encouraged members to sign up for shifts at the Fair. You can do so on-line.

Photography has its own building this year. The next workshop on July 22 will be on printing and color management, by Dennis Goodno.

Our August program will be a presentation by Don Bennett of his recent trip to Africa.

Don’t forget to send your images and articles in to David Wilkins for inclusion in the Newsletter.

David presented a list of possible future field trips for us to indicate our interest.

Katelyn Humphrey volunteered to bring refreshments next month. Thanks, Katelyn.

Doug Black won $43.50 in the 50/50 raffle.
