General Meeting, Novermber 2008

It was a full house… over 70 people were present, including 7 visitors.

We were pleased to have nature/landscape photographer Jim Cooluris return to the LPA for the third time, to present another inspiring program, “Light & the Landscape”.

It was amazing to see just how much the light can change in a matter of minutes!

Jim had great demos. The best photo ops certainly are during the magic hours of sunrise and sunset. Add in a moon, an ultra low tide, or storm clouds, and wow!

Many great questions surfaced after the presentation, and Jim answered them all.

As a thank you to Jim, he was presented with an Honorary LPA Membership.

Check out Jim’s website where you’ll find the links to the sun/moon data, and tidal information for anywhere in the US. www.jimcoolurisphotography.com

Upcoming events

Glenn Olson, coordinator of the Friday Night Discussion Group at Bianco’s Café, gave an invite to all to stop on by! It’s a café type atmosphere, where people come/go and the talk is all about photography… cameras, photo locations, techniques etc. Bring your photos to share? Bianco’s Café is at the South end of the Lancaster market Place, behind and across the street from Movies 12. The core times are from 7-8pm, but there’s typically someone there from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

Thank you to Diane Edgel for providing the yummy snacks for the evening, and to Helen Henry for stepping in to conduct the raffle. Congratulations to one of our newer members, Cheryl Ross, on winning $36 from the 50/50 drawing.
