2009 AV Fair Preparation Workshop

This was our annual event to discuss the rules for the Photography Exhibit and to explain and demonstrate the process of mounting prints to the public.

This year’s workshop was held at the Van Dam building at the fairgrounds. We were well prepared this year with several of us each doing our part. I began by explaining the changes and additions to this year’s exhibit, and answering questions from the public. Becky McRoberts was present to take us through the process of the new On-Line Entry System.

Lee used the projector to show the procedure as he explained how the digital image upload process will work.

Sue explained and demonstrated the procedure for mounting prints to foam core, and then showed how to trim the board around the picture, achieving nice results with just a straight-edge and a box-cutter.

Lee, Terri and Paul joined in to demonstrate the use of a mat-cutter and to give the public a chance to try cutting the foam-core themselves.

The public seemed quite happy with our presentation and ready to start submitting their entries.
