Meeting & Competition, July 21, 2009

We had 39 members and 8 visitors attend our July Flower Competition and General meeting.

We started our evening off with our competition chair, Helen Henry introducing our judge Joanne Stolte, from PSA. Flowers was the theme for the evening and our members entered a total of 38 prints, 36 digitals, and10 slides for the competition. Great participation and wonderful pictures!

Tylene Trout our hospitality chairperson introduced visitors and new members.

John Shredrick reminded everyone he needs the members to sign up on the LPA website for various duties at various times on various days. Please check the LPA website for more information. Decoration day is Tues the July 28th. PLEASE, PLEASE members, sign up and support your club!!!!

John Shredrick gave his workshop report beginning with July 28 and Arthur Barnett, teaching Tabletop photography. Bring your tripod and cameras. John is asking for a new workshop Chair and will work with the chair until the new chair feels secure in handling the position.

Sue Craft gave her programs report starting off with August – Swap meet, (bring Photography related items to sell, swap or give away). Then moving to Sept- Noella Ballenger, Nature by Design.

David Wilkins gave his newsletter report. He encourages members to go out and shoot.

Lyle Trusty gave his S4C and PSA report.

Upcoming Field trips are Sep 18-19 - Mono Lake/Bodie Field(photographer’s day $50 Sat to get in before/after normal hours) Leader David Wilkins.

Helen Henry gave her competition report stating Ted Dayton will be the next judge. She said all members should go online (in the forum) and vote for the next theme for the October competition. It will be announced in August.

Glenn Olson the discussion group chairman invited everyone to come join the group every Friday night at Denny’s 20th W. & K at 6:30-8:30pm, stating everyone welcome.

Announcement made about the Fair kickoff dinner July 31 at the AV Fair grounds. Tables will be held for the members who received invitations for volunteering.

Please volunteer to bring snacks for the monthly meeting. You are reimbursed up to $30. Sign up on the LPA Webpage. We would like to thank Cheryl Ross for the refreshments this month.

Congratulations to Cheryl Ross, on winning $48.00 from the 50/50 drawing.
