2010 Lancaster Poppy Festival
April 24-25
This was the LPA’s 6th year of participating in the Lancaster Poppy Festival, with a booth in the Fine Arts area. Our Purpose…
- To provide information to the public about our club: programs, workshops, field trips and activities
- To spark interest within the community in the field photography
- To provide members an opportunity to display and sell their work
Club member participation was great, with roughly 25 volunteers. Attendance at the festival this year was a record breaking 50,000 people! The weather was perfect, and the Poppies out near the reserve put on a splendid show.
All of the beautiful photos hanging on display attracted a lot of attention, and brought in many visitors and shoppers. Even “Captain Jack” and his “Caribbean” crew stopped by. In addition to large framed photos, matted prints, prints, and greeting cards were for sale. A portion of the sales has been donated to the LPA club.
Volunteers were kept busy answering people’s questions about photography, promoting the LPA, and enjoyed working together on a club project.
Thank you to all the volunteers to helped make this LPA event a big success!!!
