Members Honored at the LMAG 26th Annual Juried Art Exhibit

Opening Reception Feb 4 at 6pm

With over 343 entrants, and 143 accepted entries, by 88 artists, five of our LPA members had photos accepted into the 26th Annual Juried Art Expedition, “look here”.  To bridge the gap between the old and the new museum, and to bring art into the community, artists’ works are on display at the current museum location and many business locations along The BLVD.  LPA members Michael Harris, Douglas Wade, Lyle, Trusty, Nola Zhang and Helen Henry all had entries accepted into the exhibit.  Congratulations on your acceptances!

Shirlae Cheng-Lifshin from the Pasadena Museum of California Art and Los Angeles-based painter Gegam Kacherian were the jurors for “look here.” and drew upon their curatorial and art-making experiences to select works for public display at the museum and throughout The BLVD.

In support of this community event to promote the arts, including photography, the LPA sponsored the Dean Webb Memorial Photography Award of $100, which was presented by Lyle Trusty at the opening reception.  Lyle shared the history of the award, and the judges’ critique, and announced the award winner, Charles Hood.  Congratulations to Charles Hood for his photo “Handstand”,  and LPA member Helen Henry, for receiving an Honorable Mention for her photograph, “Seats”.  Her photo was taken on an LPA field trip to Tropico Gold Mine.

LPA Members entries and winner of the Dean Webb Memorial Photography Award won by Charles Hood can be seen at:

The exhibit runs from February 5-March 27, 2011.
