Recommended equipment

For photography in general, bring whatever equipment you have, such as telephoto lenses in the 200mm range (although 300mm-400mm will be better). You will be need to act quickly, so consider carrying your equipment. Having cases may impede your chances of great images. A polarizing filter will help cut through the reflections. Consider a wide angle lens. You may need to move around, so consider using a monopod instead of tripod (or keep the legs collapsed).

You can shoot for Black and White (sepia) in mind. In post, try to age the images to give a historical look.

Earplugs if our hearing is sensitive. Bring water and food (kept in the car).

Three Battles (12:00, 3:00, 5:15)

Featuring stars from Gettysburg and Gods and Generals: Bruce Boxleitner as General Longstreet, David Carpenter as Colonel Devin & Chaplain Tucker Lacey, Andy Prine as General Garnett, Patrick Gorman as General John Bell Hood.

Where else in Southern California do you have ground charges, aerial pyrotechnics, a Sunken Road/Bloody Lane, and The Cornfield for an Antietam based event? Where else do you have a "mountain" to use for a South Mountain scenario? This year, we will use the land in entirely new ways and take advantage of its assets even more than usual, so come join with us.

Throughout both days in Civilian Camp: Leather crafting demonstrations, historic sewing demonstrations, blacksmithing demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, and others.
