PSA Report for February 2013
Here are some of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) results and activities for February.
PSA Projected Image Open Interclub Competition (Second Round): Congratulations go to Sue Liberto for her image Here Comes Minnie for winning an Honorable Mention in the PSA Projected Image Division Group B competition. Lancaster Photography Association had 58 points in the second round. PSA Projected Imaging Division Creative Interclub competition (First Round): Congratulations Pat Ware for winning an Honorable Mention for Ford Radiator Head Lamp. The Lancaster Photography Association is listed 7th of 12 clubs entered. PSA Photojournalism Interclub (First Round): Congratulations Sue Liberto (Endeavor Finale) for winning the PJ Open in Group A Interclub competition. Dale Ware won an HM with Wood Turner in the PJ Human Interest in Group A also. Individual scores and club standings have not been posted yet.
PSA Nature Interclub (Second Round): There have not been any results posted.
PSA Youth Photography Showcase: The process has been started for the PSA Youth Photography Showcase. LPA has received permission to distribute materials to the various schools. This year Antelope Valley HS does not have a photography class.
PSA Journal On-Line: The new PSA On-Line Journal is now available. It previously was viewed as a pdf file, but now the Journal has a new mobile format. PSA members need to sign in with the Member Login. It reads like a magazine, and still can be downloaded as a pdf. PSA Facebook: The new PSA Facebook web page is becoming popular. Members can check out activities and post images. To be a part of this group, PSA members will need to “like” the group. There are many activities by PSA Clubs, Councils and Federations all over the world. When PSA members are traveling, they are welcome to join in these activities. This was introduced about a week ago, and has 900 “likes” now. PSA has over 6500 members. https://www.facebook.com/#!/Photographic.Society.of.America?fref=ts.
George Glennie Nature Salon: Get those Nature images ready. LPA will participate in the 33rd George Glennie Nature Competition for the fourth year. LPA Members images are due by February 21, 2013. LPA members judging will be February 21 to March 1. LPA entries are due on March 8, 2013. More information can be found on the LPA website home page.
Coachella Valley Camera Club Exhibition: The PSA Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club’s International Exhibition will have a closing date of February 16, 2013. There are two digital Divisions offered. Participants may enter in both of these Divisions. The new Projected Image Division will have two sections: Color Class General and Monochrome Class, which are judged pictorially. There will also be two sections in the Nature Division offered: General and Wildlife. The judging will be held on March 2/3, 2013. The cost is $7/section.
