PSA Report for December 2013

PSA Annual Conference, Albuquerque, New Mexico: The Photographic Society of America’s Annual Conference for 2014 will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The conference dates are September 27 to October 3, 2014. Room rates for the conference hotel (Albuquerque Marriott on Louisiana Blvd.) will be $99/night. There are only 200 rooms reserved for the conference, so reserve rooms now.  Here is the direct link to reserve rooms.

PSA Nature Interclub (First Round):  The second round deadline is January 15, 2014.

PSA Projected Image Division Interclub (First Round): Results are pending. The second round deadline is January 1, 2014.

PSA Photojournalism Division Interclub (First Round): Results are pending. The second round deadline is January 15, 2014.

PSA Travel Division Interclub (First Round): Results are pending. The second round deadline is February 15, 2014.

PSA Projected Image Division (PID) Creative Interclub (First Round): The entries for the PID Creative Interclub are the following: “Flag Face” Rock Myers, *El Dorado Friendly Ghost” Bonnie Matthews,” Mirror Ball-101” Bill Sutton, “Mules Ear” Dale Ware, “Murder of John Wayne” Doug Wade, “Randsburg General Store” Dale Ware, and “Yellow Bird” Pam Vick.

Coachella Valley International Exhibition: Entries are now open for the Coachella Valley International Exhibition. The deadline for entries is February 15, 2014.The judging will be remote, with the medal rounds being judged on March 1, 2014 at the California Baptist University. The following classes will be offered this year:

PSA Southern California Chapter’s annual full-day event of photography programs and workshops for PSA members: This will be a free event for all PSA members in the Lancaster Photography Association. The program will be held at the Cal Baptist University, Riverside, CA on April 26th.

On Friday April 25th and 26th there will be a photo walk-about around the historic Mission Inn, led by Jan Maguire FPSA, MPSA.

There will be two speakers. George Lepp will present “Extreme Capture Techniques in Nature Photography” and is sponsored by Canon Explorers of Light. Robert O’Toole will present “A Passion for Wildlife Photography” and is sponsored by Sigma.

Registration will open February 15, 2014.
