End Of Year Competition & General Meeting Night: June 17, 2014

David Wilkins, our President, welcomed nearly 40 members to our General Meeting night and very special “End of Year” Competition. Also included in the evening’s agenda were the PSA & S4C AwardsPresentation, and the Installation of Officers.

The 1st  place winners for the 2013-2014 competed for the Year End - Members Choice Awards. All results for the competition can be seen on the LPA website. Congratulations to ALL the Winners! Each will receive a certificate and a ribbon, and will be awarded an acrylic plaque with their name, and the title of winning photo.

Thank you to Tina Crowe and Bill Sutton, Competition Chairs for the past year. They will be notifying those of you who won your second LPA blue ribbon this year, in your level, as you will get to move up July 1, 2014.

Nan Carder shared a photo presentation to recognize the PSA Youth Showcase Photos and Awards, which featured our local high school photography students. LPA Members who participated in the PSA Interclub Competitions were also recognized, and LPA did very well! Thank you to Nan Carder for encouraging local high school photography teachers and their students to participate in PSA, and of course for all your efforts in strengthening LPA’s involvements in PSA.

David Wilkins did a photo presentation as well recognizing the S4C Year End Award Winners. Bonnie Matthews created visual boards featuring both Individual and Interclub High Point winners, Medal winners, and End of Year HM/Medal winners. All LPA members are encouraged to participate in S4C. The new competition year begins in October. If you need help, please contact Bonnie Matthews. Participation can be on an individual or interclub basis.

David Wilkins handed out “Certificates of Appreciation” to Board Members and Chairpersons.

A copy of the new “Print Rules” effective July 1, 2014 was handed out.

Thank you to Tina Crowe for bringing the jumbo sized cake from Costco to celebrate! Several busy bees including Sue Liberto, Holly Peskin, and Pat Ware cut and served the cake as well as cleaned up. There were several pieces left, and they were given to the Senior Center Staff. Please consider providing snack for any LPA non-competition night. The LPA can reimburse you for up to $30. Thank you also to Paul Craft and Bill Liberto for all the computer presenting of digital entries, and audio etc...You both do a terrific job, and have played such an important part!
