Douglas Wade, our President, welcomed 54 members & guests to our General Meeting and Competition Night with “Step into the Past” as the theme and Paul Speaker as the judge.

Paul is an active member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), has earned numerous degrees and awards, and is currently serving on the PPA Council. He is past president of the Inland Empire Professional Photographers and Videographers, and International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP). His other memberships include the Southern California Council of Camera Clubs (S4C), the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the Photochromers, the Rancho Cucamonga Photo Club, and the Riverside Art Museum’s Photo Artist Network (PAN).

Paul provided informative critiques on each and every entry (69 digital images and 14 prints). He reminded us of a few key things to pay attention to when submitting entries for competition. Watch for hot spots, open up the detail in the shadows, eliminate halos, and use subtle vignettes when needed to help direct the eye to the subject. Congratulations to all the winners!  View the entries and winners on the LPA website under Competitions.
