General Meeting Minutes - MACRO Competition – July 19, 2016

Attendance # 42

Doug Wade welcomed the members to the General Meeting and Competition night for our Macro competition. Dusty filled in as judge at the last minute.

The Macro competition went well. In Novice, Lidia Csernyey received 1st, Carol Moss received 2nd and 3rd. HMs went to Carol and Lidia as well. In Amateur, first went to Terry Dickerson, 2nd to Shirl Airov-Bieling and 3rd to Dale Taft, HM to Darren Cole. In Advanced, 1st was Wayne Staley and 2nd was Maryann Ryan. In Master, 1st went to Kathy Newman, 2nd and 3rd went to Sue Craft and HMs went to Ronald Yagi, Sue Liberto, and Kathy Newman.

Doug reminded everyone that the new LPA year started July 1st and you must be a current member to participate in competitions.

Bonnie Matthews-Franke reminded everyone that the Human Interest competition will be occurring on October 18, 2016.

Programs/Workshops -

July 26th – How to Mount Your Photos for AV Fair Photography Exhibit - Douglas Wade/Kurtiss Humphrey - (volunteers/helpers & supplies needed - newspaper, 2 tarps, spray adhesive, straight edges, cutters, gloves)

August 16th - Miscellaneous Ramblings around Bharat (a.k.a. India) - Richard Wood

August 23rd - Workshop on Judging - Hutch Hutchison

September 20th - Program - Kathy Newman will speak on Introduction to Photoshop.

September 27th - Workshop - Human Interest - Darren Cole

November 15th - Ken Sklute, a Canon Explorer of Light will be speaking.

December 20th - LPA Holiday Party
