Competition nights are always fun! Over 40 people were present, and there were 13 Slides, 21 Prints, 57 Digitals entries, all entering under the theme of “Desert Wildflowers & Desert Scenes” Rich Breault was our judge tonight, giving us wonderful critiques on each and every entry. This is beneficial for the novice photographer as well as the master photographer.

Award winning outdoor photography Don Gale presented a program on “Nature, Wildlife, & Landscape Techniques”.

We had 46 members and 2 visitors attend our March Creative Imagine Competition and General meeting.

We had 55 members and 1 visitor attend our February General meeting.

Our guest speaker tonight was Ted Dayton, President of the Santa Clarita Photography club.

We met Ted at the Home Town Buffet for an early dinner and a very interesting conversation. During the presentation Ted shared photos and talked about HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography using Photomatix Pro from HDRsoft.com.

The output quality of our members pictures has really improved over the years. We are seeing a huge difference in not only the quality, but photographic knowledge displayed by our members. Many images in the armature section could just as easily have been in the professional section.

We had a festive evening, enjoying the company of 78 members and visitors in attendance for a Lasagna dinner, listening to wonderful Christmas Carols on the piano by the talented Lisa Craft.

It was a full house… over 70 people were present, including 7 visitors.

We were pleased to have nature/landscape photographer Jim Cooluris return to the LPA for the third time, to present another inspiring program, “Light & the Landscape”.

Wow, this months competition brought an overwhelming amount of entries. The most we've had in a long time.
