The Lancaster Photography Association (LPA) tied for second place overall in Group A for the 2012-2013 season. Participating this year were the following: Bruce Cable, Diane Cable, Nan Carder, Tina Crowe, Lee Garner, Helen Henry, Sharna Lee, Sue Liberto, Scott Shackelford, Dale Ware, Chris and David Wilkins.

PSA Annual Conference, Portland, Maine: The PSA conference went well this year. Anita Kratofil volunteered at the conference registration desk and met most of the people at the conference. There were approximately 485 attendees. Brenda Tharpe gave two outstanding presentations. The model shoot was fun for even those who do not do model shoots. The tours were very good. The weather was nice once the rain stopped after the first two days. The PSA Annual Conference in 2014 will be in Albuquerque (right before the Balloon Festival), and in 2015 will be held in Yellowstone.

PSA Report for September 2013


PSA News

PSA Annual Conference, Portland, Maine: Only a couple more days before the PSA Annual Conference will begin. The dates are September 15th through September 21st 2013. The PSA Annual Conference in 2014 will be in Albuquerque (right before the Balloon Festival), and in 2015 will be held in Yellowstone.

Newsletter Contest: The PSA Newsletter Contest Results were announced. There were 39 Large Clubs. The Lancaster Photography Association was 18th. David Wilkins received the Best Technical Article (tie) for his article “Get More Out of Lightroom Keywords.” Congratulations David.

Terri Garner has done a great job with the newsletter. Thank you, Terri. Terri was also one of the PSA Small Club Newsletter Contest judges this year.

Website Contest: The Web Site Contest results will be announced at the PSA Conference. The Lancaster Photography Association participated in the large club entries and was 8th out of 21 entries. Lee Garner is the Lancaster Photography Association web master and does an excellent job.

Council Challenge Results: Will be announced in the next report. Some of our member’s images were submitted this year. There will be more news about this next month.

PSA Photojournalism Division Interclub Competition (Fourth Round): Results are pending.

Tina Crowe volunteered to send the Photojournalism Interclub winners (from round two, three, and four) their ribbons. She has been asked to be the PSA’s Photojournalism Division’s Director of Awards, Medals, and Ribbons.

The September PSA Journal has been released and two high school youths from the Antelope Valley area have their pictures in the journal in the PSA Youth Photography Showcase. Two Faces (Elena Guillen) and I am Made of Me (Edgar Martinez) were shown on page 36-37.

The 2013-2014 PSA Interclub competitions will start in October.

PSA Projected Image Division Creative Interclub Competition (Fourth Round): Lancaster Photography Association did not receive any Awards or Honorable Mentions.

PSA Photojournalism Division Interclub Competition (Third Round): Sue Liberto (Flying Cocker) and Nan Carder (Bubble Girl) received HMs for the Photojournalism Interclub Group A. The Lancaster Photography Association was third in the third round.

PSA Photojournalism Division Interclub Competition (Fourth Round): Results are pending.
