Here are some of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) activities for December:

PSA Projected Image Open Interclub Competition: Congratulations go to Tina Crowe and Anita Kratofil for winning Honorable Mentions at the October Projected Image Divisions competition in Group B. The entries from the Lancaster Photography Association were the following: Old Diner (Dale Ware), [mglink:20121129132518761 Passion for Pink] (Tina Crowe), Reaching from Terra (Tom Van Langenhoven), Waffles for Breakfast (Lee Garner), [mglink:20121129132536121 Yosemite Falls Moonbow] (Anita Kratofil), and Yosemite Valley View (Sue Craft).

Projected Imaging Division Creative Interclub competition: The entries for the December Projected Image Divisions Creative Interclub from the Lancaster Photography Association were the following: Atomium 1 (Anita Kratofil), Water Lily (Dale Ware), Gateway to the Stars (Bill Sutton), Moon Handler  (Brent Bremer), Ford Radiator and Head Lamps (Pat Ware), and Bleeding Heart (Helen Henry). There have not been any results posted.

PSA Report for November, 2012

Results of the Ocean State International Exhibition of Photography Club Entrants: Lancaster Photography Association entered the Ocean State International Exhibition this year as a club. Any members receiving acceptances will have those acceptances go towards a division star. There were about 2000 images submitted, with approximately 700 acceptances. Lancaster Photography Association was 4th out of 20 clubs. There were nine LPA members who entered the PSA Ocean Sate International Exhibition Club competition. Diana Edgel won a Chairman’s Medal for [mglink:20120413180325151 Moonbow], and Sue Craft won an Honor Award with [mglink:20120601083851918 Yosemite Valley View]. Other members entering and receiving acceptances were the following: Tina Crowe, Bill Liberto, Sue Liberto, Bonnie Matthews, Dale Ware, Chris Wilkins, and David Wilkins.

Bonnie Matthews has been doing well in other PSA International Exhibitions recently. Bonnie had the following acceptances: SCIPE (two), AC-Foto Germany (eight), and PSSNY (two). She now has thirty acceptances in CPID (and should be eligible for her first Division Star), three acceptances in the Electronic Division, and eight in the Nature Division.

Congratulations Sue Liberto


PSA News

The Year End Results are in for the Photographic Society of America Photojournalism Inter-club competition has been announced, and Sue Liberto won 3rd Place in the Overall for her image "[mglink:20120109141632354 Mounted Shooter]". The Lancaster Photography Association won 3rd place in the overall standings.

PSA Report for October 2012


PSA News

This year, Helen Henry, Jerry Henry, Bill Sutton, Leslie Sutton, and I attended the PSA Annual Conference in San Francisco. We had a great time with tours, classes, vendors, etc. Next year the conference will be in Portland, Maine. In 2014, the conference will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Balloon Festival), then a return visit to Yellowstone. More information on this year’s conference will be available in the LPA November “Desert Exposure”.

PSA Interclub Competitions: The first Nature Interclub competition is due October 15th. Any member in the club is eligible for this competition, whether they are a PSA member or not.

PSA Report for September, 2012


PSA News

This year, Helen Henry, Jerry Henry, Bill Sutton, Leslie Sutton, and I will attend the PSA Annual Conference in San Francisco. Lancaster Photography Association had three members’ images in the PSA Council Challenge Monochrome Section: Arliss Dawson, Helen Henry and Nan Carder. We are looking forward to a great week in San Francisco.

Helen Henry received a first place in the Photojournalism Quarterly Competition for the Home Place (http://johnlarson.4t.com/PSA_PJ_Quarterly/index.htm). The competition is free to all PSA members. Entries for the next PSA PJ Quarterly competition are due September 9, 2012. Session 3 is due October 2012. Any PSA member may compete, and it is free.
