The seventh S4C Competition was held remotely on Feb 08, 2014. The entries submitted for Feb were: A- Lee Garner (HM), Rock Myers (AWARD), Scott Shackelford, Pam Vick (HM) and for AA- Tina Crowe (HM), Diana Edgel, Sue Liberto (AWARD) and P.Dale Ware.

The sixth competition will open on February 8th and close on March 1st. Physical judging will take place on March 8th along with a Delegates meeting and Board meeting.

The Dec & Jan S4C Competition was held remotely on Jan 11, 2014.  The entries submitted will be judged remotely in January as “makeups” and I will be entering January’s images as normal. The entries submitted for December /January were: A- Wendy Ware (AWARD), Wes Burcham, Bruce Cable, Ronald Yagi(HM), Sharna Lee, Wayne Staley, Chris Wilkins, and  Scott Shackleford(HM).  AA- Arliss Dawson, Dwight Franke, P. Dale Ware, Nan Carder (HM), William Sutton, Sue Craft, Anita Kratofil and David Wilkins (AWARD).  The fifth competition will open on January 11th  and close on February 1st   with the remote judging to take place on February 8th.

The second S4C Competition was held on November 09th in Riverside. The entries submitted were: A- Fran Marroquin, Douglas Wade, Carol Moss and Pam Vick with Pam Vick receiving an Award with “Marina Before Sunset” and AA- Diane Edgel, Don Bennett, Anital Kratofil and William Sutton with William Sutton receiving an Award with “Half Dome”.  The third competition will open on Nov 16th and close on Dec 7th with the  remote judging to take place on Dec 14th.  We are looking for good images to submit this competition year for both A and AA levels.

LPA did real good last year and I’d like to see us start the 2013-2014 year with a lot of fresh, new images to be considered for Interclub competitions. Judging just finished for the AV Fair and on August16th the fair opens…BUT for those who entered in the AV Fair, our members entered a lot of very nice images and did a very nice job at the fair. David Wilkins notified me with the following information from the S4C Board meeting he recently attended as a board member. Here is an update on the changes made at that  meeting.

• There will only be A and AA levels in Interclub next year 2013-14.
• Print competition will be eliminated next year.  There were fewer entries this past year than in the previous years.  There is not enough participation to support a competition.
• Pictorial color will be split into Pictorial Studio pictorial and Pictorial Color for images that cannot be entered in Pictorial Studio.  Studio will be defined as where the elements of the image are dominantly controlled by the maker or another person present for the purpose whether or not the image is acquired in a formal studio.
• Levels for the new divisions were assigned.   There will be A, AA and E in the new sections, AAA was eliminated.  Competitors who were AAA in pictorial will be AA in Studio.  Everybody else will be A in Studio, except for some in E who did not move up.  For the new Pictorial Color, everyone will be A, except for some E's who did not move up.
• The nature general definition was changed to eliminate any reference to allowing hand of man where it enhances the story.  PSA is moving in this direction.
• The honors application will be moved online and the point system was modified in a few places.
