Lois Simmons, 1924 - 2000
Simmons, Lois J., born Jan 29, 1924 in Idaho, passed away March 19, 2000 at her home in Lancaster. Lois was a resident of the Antelope Valley since 1957 and participated in numerous community events and organizations including teh Assistance League of the Antelope Valley, Kids on the Block program, the Assistance League Bowling Team, and Photography Club of the Antelope Valley.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Engstrom (husband Howard) of Quartz Hill, Christina Simmons of Lancaster, and Benjamin Simmons, Jr. (wife Sherri) of Bush, Louisiana; grandchildren Christopher Simmons and David Engstrom (wife Kari); great grandson Brandon Engstrom and a brother, Harry Moore (wife Margaret) of Pasco, Wash. She was preceded in death ty her brother, Keneth Moore and her husband of 45 years, Ben Simmons in 1990.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at Lancaster Presbyterian Church, 1661 West Lancaster Blvd. Interment to follow at Joshua Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations in memory of Lois to the Assistance League of the Antelope Valley. Lois spent much of her time caring for others and her love and influence will go on forever through all the lives she touched. She will be greatly missed by all.
