PSA CPID Creative Interclub Silver Medals Go To Helen Henry and Bill Sutton


Club News

Congratulations to Helen Henry ([mglink:20120222065916398 Day Tripping in LA]) and Bill Sutton ([mglink:20120222065428657 Balloon Fantasy]) for wining the CPID Creative Interclub Best of the Best Silver Medals for 2012 in Group B.

Their images will be shown at the PSA Annual Conference Best of the Best slide show in San Francisco this year. There were four competitions this year. Their images were each chosen as one of the top six images  from all of the images that won Awards this year.

Other members competing this year in the CPID Creative Interclub Competitions were the following: Larry Boswell, Nan Carder, Arliss Dawson, Diana Edgel, Michael Harris, Helen Henry, Kurtiss Humphreys, Carol Moss, Bill Sutton, Pam Vick, Dale Ware, and Pat Ware.

LPA Logo Attire Now Available


Our Lancaster Photography Association logo can now be embroidered on polo shirts, sweatshirts, and baseball caps, and it can be screen printed on t-shirts.  These items are available through All Things Engravable, at 44242 10th Street West in Lancaster.  It's in the shopping center with the Edwards Federal Credit Union and the Whole Wheatery.

PSA Club and Members Doing Well


Club News

Congratulations go to Lee and Terri Garner! Terri Garner's LPA Newsletter, Desert Exposure won an Honorable Mention in this year's PSA Newsletter Contest. Terri became the editor last year. She works full time, is the LPA Treasurer, and earned her first acceptance in the S4 International Exhibition in Photojournalism. The LPA Website also won an Honorable Mention in this year's PSA Website Contest. Lee is not only the Webmaster, but a board member for S4C. Lee was very active in the S4C International Exhibition this year.

Helen Henry recently found out that she won the PSA EID Creative Competition Session 2 Best of Show. Her Image "A Bleeding Heart Vortex" won the the Medal, and her "Three Puzzled Masks" won an Honorable Mention.

LPA had quite a few members competing in the 2012 S4C 47th PSA International Exhibition of Photography that was held July 21, 2012. Some of the members receiving acceptances were Bonnie Matthews, Scott Shackelford, Pat Ware, Dale Ware, Tina Crowe, Diana Edgel, Terri Garner, David Wilkins, Holly Peskin, and Nan Carder. Dale Ware was the Chairperson in charge of the Photojournalism Section competition. LPA members that assisted him were the following: Pat Ware, Doug Wade, Wayne Staley, David Wilkins, and Tina Crowe. Quite a few of our members received Honorable Mentions also. These acceptances will count towards earning Divisional Stars.

PSA PJ Interclub Results Are In


Club News

The Final PSA Photojournalism Interclub Competition and Year End results are completed. In the fourth PJ competition, Bruce Cable with Water Drop on Wagon Wheel received a third place in PJ/Human Interest, and Nan Carder, PPSA, received a 5th Honorable Mention in PJ Open with Slider 2. Lancaster Photography Association (LPA) tied for third place in the final round, and was tied for third place in the year end final standings (twenty two clubs competed). This is the first PSA Interclub Competition where LPA members submitted their images, then selected the images to represent our club. This is the first time Bruce Cable has entered a PSA competition. Congratulations to Bruce Cable and all of our members who contributed images this year.

LPA Wins PSA Creative Interclub High Point


Club News

The final results for the PSA Creative Interclub Group B have been posted, and LPA tied for second in the last round. There were no Awards or HMs, but the scores were high enough for LPA to end up the PSA Creative Interclub Group B High Point winners. Participating LPA members this season were the following: Diana Edgel, Carol Moss, Helen Henry, Pam Vick, Pat Ware, Dale Ware, Bill Sutton, Micheal Harris, Kurtiss Humphrey, Arliss Dawson, and Nan Carder. Any image that won an Award this year is eligible for the Best of the Best. Way to go LPA.

S4C End of Year Banquet - June 2, 2012


Well another year was finished off by having the S4C banquet on June 2. Many of our LPA members traveled to Alhambra for a day of awards and food. Of course we all got to sit together and visit which is always fun.

The awards our club collected were many. LPA received a High Points Silver Award for AA Interclub entries. Thank you Nan Carder for encouraging members to submit entries for interclub competitions. Numerous member photos were also part of the club award. You too can submit entries for next years interclub competition!

You can also enter as an individual.  All LPA members are eligible to participate in S4C, for free! You only need a UEN number. Follow the S4C link on the LPA website. Start submitting your entries in September for the 2012-2013 competition year.

PSA Nature Interclub Final Competition


Club News

The final Nature Interclub Competition results were just announced, and congratulations go to Don Bennett and his image , which won an Honorable Mention.

The top six scoring images from the George Glennie Competition were selected for the last PSA Nature Interclub competition. The members whose images were selected were the following: David and Chris Wilkins, Wes Burcham, Sue Liberto, Don Bennett, and Sue Craft.

LPA ended up with a total score of 74 points, and our club tied for fourth place in this competition. LPA ended up the year in 9th place out of 41 clubs in Group B.
