Swim Party, August 13, 2005
Once again, Kay and Clen Hendrickson put together another great party. Over 30 people attended our annual event.
This year’s party theme was “Old Fashioned Swimsuits” and everyone was encouraged to dress the part. Many of the attendees did just that. There were quite a few unique costumes, some quite extravagant. Some members brought in some old time cameras to add to the occasion. It made for a great photo opportunity.
For those who haven’t been to one of our Swim Parties, this is the one event where there’s nothing on the agenda but eating and socializing (and swimming of course). Folks started arriving around 3 pm. The weather was just perfect for being outside. We had lots of chips and dips and various appetizers to snack on while we were passing time in conversation, and frolicking around the pool.
Around 5:30, Clen fired up the barbeque and got some burgers going. We all started shifting from the pool area over to the patio. Those burgers went as fast as he could cook them. Of course, we had a variety of wines, cakes, pies, ice cream, and a lot more to choose from.
Between 7 and 8 pm, folks started heading home. It was a relaxing and enjoyable evening for everyone. Thanks to Kay and Clen for their efforts in making this one of the best parties yet!
