LPA BBQ, June 2009

Events

What fun!!! Yeah, a little windy… actually a LOT windy… the wind was a steady 20mph, gusting to 35mph, but we still had a great time!

Approximately 25 LPA members participated. We hoped to have more, but some were out of town, and others, I’m sure scared off by the wind. The setup was ideal, at the group picnic area at Lancaster City Park. Terri Garner, on behalf of the LPA, reserved the group area for us, which meant we had reserved space, plenty of tables, a great big BBQ, and electricity for the crock pot.

We had fun setting up the group picture. Just how many people CAN you fit on a picnic table? Even the photographer (Lee Garner) was on top of a picnic table, with his tripod too. Adjustable tripod legs sure do come in handy.

Thank you Terri for coordinating the BBQ for us, to Cheryl & Jim Ross for donating the charcoal, to Lee Garner for organizing the group photo, and to all the rest of you for coming, and bringing yummy food to share.

It was so nice just to sit and visit (and eat of course) with LPA members, and find out just how much we all have in common. If the wind weren’t blowing, think we all easily could have stayed all afternoon!

I’d like to see another LPA picnic, perhaps in the fall, when the weather cools off and the wind slows down.
