Preparing Prints for the AV Fair
Workshop Sponsored by LPA
June 19, 2010

Once again, the LPA offered a free workshop “Preparing Prints for the AV Fair”, open to the public, and held at the AV Fair.  The workshop was conducted by LPA President Dave Anderson, who is also the Photography Chairman for the AV Fair.

Forty five people were in attendance.  Dave went over the rules, the entry process, and answered many questions.  Examples were shown on what is an acceptable mounted print and supplies needed to do yourself, as well as a list of places that will do the process for you.   The digital entry system was explained in great detail.  Lee Garner gave a demo of the digital upload process.  David Wilkins assisted Dave in giving a hands-on demo on mounting photos to foam core.

Handouts were available, such as the “Entry Exhibit Guide for Photography”, photo labels for the backs of prints, and a helpful guidebook written by Glenn Olson.  The guidebook “Notes to Accompany the AV Fair Photography Competition Guide” are notes written for those who have never entered into the AV Fair's Photography competition and for those who still have difficulties understanding the process.  All handouts are available for download on the homepage of the LPA website, under AV Fair.

Attendees thanked the presenters and said they picked up a lot of good tips.
