Here are some of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) results and activities for March.
PSA Projected Image Open Interclub Competition (Third Round): The third round of the Photographic Society of America Projected Image Division (PID) entries was submitted to the PID interclub competition. Listed are the following Lancaster Photography Association (LPA) members and their images: Sue Liberto (Northern Pintail), Chris Wilkins (Two Cranes at Sunset), David Wilkins (South Georgia Salisbury Plain), Doug Wade (Sleeping Beauty), Pam Vick (Echevaria Blooms), and Tina Crowe (Winged Emerald).
PSA Projected Imaging Division Creative Interclub competition (Second Round): The second round of the PSA PID Creative Division also was submitted. Listed are the following LPA members and their entries: Bonnie Matthews (60’s Throw Back), Anita Kratofil (Atomium), Ed Dorroh (Beer Me), Pam Vick (Echeveria Blooms), Dale Ware (Gorilla Face), and Pat Ware (Tanker Truck).
PSA Photojournalism Interclub (Second Round): The LPA entries for the second round of the PSA Photojournalism Interclub were the following: Lee Garner (Action and Motion), Bruce Cable (Helicopter Water Drop), Chris Wilkins (Serghei Tvetcov), David Wilkins (Splash Dog), Tina Crowe (Falling Hard), and Nan Carder, PPSA (Veteran and Son).
PSA Nature Interclub (Second Round): Congratulations go to both Tina Crowe (Owl) and Chris Wilkins (King Penguin and Juvenile in Show) for winning Honorable Mentions in the PSA Nature Division Interclub competition Group B.
PSA Youth Photography Showcase: The process continues with the local high schools for the PSA Youth Photography Showcase.
PSA Journal On-Line: Helen Henry had a nice article “The Benefits of HDR-It can be a Love Hate Relationship” in the PSA March Journal. The article can also be viewed on line. PSA Facebook: The new PSA Facebook web page is becoming popular. Members can check out activities and post images. To be a part of this group, PSA members will need to “like” the group. George Glennie Nature Salon: The entries have been sent to the George Glennie Memorial Nature Salon. The following members will represent LPA: Don Bennett, Sue Craft, Dale Ware, Chris Wilkins, Holly Peskin, Diana Edgel, Marv Brimer, Sue Liberto, David Voss, and David Wilkins. Thanks to Lee Garner again this year, who set the competition up on the LPA website. Coachella Valley Camera Club Exhibition: The PSA Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club’s International Exhibition had Lancaster Photography Association members participating and every member had at least one acceptance. The following members participated: Arliss Dawson, Diana Edge (2 HMs), Bonnie Matthews, Holly Peskin, Bill Sutton, Dale Ware (2 HMs), Pat Ware, Tina Crowe and David Wilkins, There were over 3000 images in four classes.
Greater Lynn International Exhibition: Bill Sutton had an acceptance in the PSA Greater Lynn Exhibition. He is on the way to his first Projected Image Division Star. Bonnie Matthews also had an acceptance.
Bonnie Matthews has had acceptances at the following PSA Exhibitions: SCIPE, Toronto, Ridgewood, Rockland, SOP Howrah, and WIEP. She has enough acceptances for her 2nd PID Star.
Helen Henry earned her first PSA Editorial Star. This bronze star will be presented to her at one of the Lancaster Photography Association general meetings.
PSA-member Discounts: PSA offers their members discounts Theses discounts are in the Member Exclusive Services Area under Member Discounts. PSA offers a new discount from UMark Software. PSA members will receive a 30% discount for Watermarks which has the capability to batch hundreds of images in one go.
