PSA Annual Conference, Albuquerque, New Mexico: The Photographic Society of America’s Annual Conference for 2014 will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The conference dates are September 27 to October 3, 2014. Room rates for the conference hotel (Albuquerque Marriott on Louisiana Blvd.) will be $99/night. There are only 200 rooms reserved for the conference, so reserve rooms now.  Here is the direct link to reserve rooms.

PSA Website Contest: Entries will be open for the PSA Website Contest on January 15, 2014,

PSA Newsletter Contest: Entries will be open for the PSA Newsletter Contest on March 1, 2014.

PSA Nature Interclub (Second Round):  The entries for the Nature Division Group A are the following: “Bear Eating Dandelions” Dale Ware, “Burrowing Owls Fighting” Arliss Dawson, “Emerging from the Arctic” Chris Wilkins, “I’ve Got Your Back” Sue Liberto, “Snowy Egret” Tina Crowe, and “Yosemite Valley View Storm Clearing” David Wilkins.

PSA Projected Image Division Interclub (Second Round): The entries for the Projected Image Division (PID) Interclub Group B were the following: “Peony Luxury” Holly Peskin, “Fire Blossoms Delicacy” Alex Venz, “Asian Sungirl” (Doug Wade),”Old Wagon Bodie”, Dale Ware,  “1917 Corona Typewriter” (Pat Ware).  Congratulations Chris for winning an Award, and Holly Peskin for winning an Honorable Mention. PSA Photojournalism Division Interclub (Second Round): Entries for the second round PSA Photojournalism are the following: “Alex Candelario Time Trial” Chris Wilkins, “Family Makes Three” Helen Henry, “Final Sprint Stage 5” David Wilkins, “Portrait in Central Park” Bill Liberto, “Unhappy Graduate” Wayne Staley, and “Water Gun Pool Patrol” Scott Shackelford.

PSA Travel Division Interclub (First Round): Results are pending. The second round deadline is February 15, 2014.

PSA Projected Image Division (PID) Creative Interclub (First Round): Results are pending.

Coachella Valley International Exhibition: Entries are now open for the Coachella Valley International Exhibition. The deadline for entries is February 15, 2014. The medal rounds will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. More information can be found at this web link: http://www.cvdcc.org/exhibitions/

PSA Southern California Chapter’s annual full-day event of photography programs and workshops for PSA members: This will be a free event for all PSA members in the Lancaster Photography Association. The program will be held at the Cal Baptist University, Riverside, CA on April 26th.

On Friday April 25th and 26th there will be a photo walk-about around the historic Mission Inn, led by Jan Maguire FPSA, MPSA.

Speakers will be George Lepp who will present “Extreme Capture Techniques in Nature Photography” and is sponsored by Canon Explorers of Light. Robert O’Toole will present  “A Passion for Wildlife Photography” and is sponsored by Sigma.

Ocean State International Exhibition: The catalog has been posted for the Ocean State International Exhibition. Lancaster Photography Association accepted images may be seen at the following webpage: http://www.psri.us/psricms/wp-content/OSI_2013/sect_1.htm

Gold Rush Chapter International Exhibition: The catalog for the PSA Gold Rush Chapter International Exhibition was posted. Four of our LPA members participated. Bill Sutton, Dale Ware, Pat Ware and Nan Carder participated in this Projected Image Division competition Open and Creative. All acceptances will count towards the PID Star Ratings.
