S4C Report - January, 2014
The Dec & Jan S4C Competition was held remotely on Jan 11, 2014. The entries submitted will be judged remotely in January as “makeups” and I will be entering January’s images as normal. The entries submitted for December /January were: A- Wendy Ware (AWARD), Wes Burcham, Bruce Cable, Ronald Yagi(HM), Sharna Lee, Wayne Staley, Chris Wilkins, and Scott Shackleford(HM). AA- Arliss Dawson, Dwight Franke, P. Dale Ware, Nan Carder (HM), William Sutton, Sue Craft, Anita Kratofil and David Wilkins (AWARD). The fifth competition will open on January 11th and close on February 1st with the remote judging to take place on February 8th.
*The next physical meeting and board meeting will be March 8. *
For S4C Interclub and to participate as an Individual, you MUST have a UEN to enter. If you do not have one, please go to the S4C website and request yours today (just takes about 5 min)!. If everyone who entered in the fair would send me 2 or 3 images, I would have a nice pool of images to last a few months to choose from. When sending an image, please send me your UEN. Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.
She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.
She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better
.She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.
Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.
Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
