S4C Newsletter Report-October 2014
The first S4C Competition was held on October 11th by remote judging. There were too few entries this month to allow for a viable Interclub competition so the judging was cancelled. The entries I submitted will automatically carry forward to for November’s competition. The second competition opened on Oct 11, 14 and will close on Nov 8, 14 with the judging to take place in Riverside on Nov 15, 14 along with a Delegates meeting and Board meeting.
For S4C Interclub and to participate as an Individual, you MUST have a UEN to enter. If you do not have one, please go to the S4C website and request yours today (just takes about 5 min)! Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.
She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.
She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better
.She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.
Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.
Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
