S4C Board Report-November 2014

S4C News

The first & second S4C Competition will be held on November 15th in Riverside along with a Delegates meeting and Board meeting. Since there were too few entries in Oct to allow for a viable Interclub competition, those entries were carried over to November’s competition.

I’d like to thank the following members who sent me their images to be used for Interclub competition. Level A: Douglass Wade (Milky_Way), Ron Yagi (Bird of Paradise), Matt Mahowald (Piute Morning), Rock Myers (Yosemite Falls), Sharna Lee (Jethawks 5), Wayne Staley (Sisters _1095), Darren Cole (Daisy) and S. Airov-Bieling (Baby Jake colored). Level AA: Dwight Franke (Sadie), Dale Ware ( Beauty Wasting Away), Sue Craft (Resurection_Bay_Alaska), Holly Peskin ( Horseshoe Bend), Arliss Dawson (Pronghorn), William sutton (Sail Boat), Kurtiss Humphreys (Edwards Desert) and Don Bennett (Bee In Crocus). The results will be announced at the General meeting November 18th.

For S4C Interclub and to participate as an Individual, you MUST have a UEN to enter. If you do not have one, please go to the S4C website and request yours today (just takes about 5 min)! When sending an image, please send me your UEN. If you have any questions about S4C or wish to send me images, please email me at bonniejmatthews@hotmail.com.

by Bonnie J Matthews-Franke

Bonnie has been taking pictures since she was a little girl, but she didn't get into digital photography until about 2009, just before she joined the club.

Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.

She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.

She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better Smile.
She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.

Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.

Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
