S4C Report, December 2014
The third S4C Competition will be held remotely on Dec 13th. I’d like to thank the following members who sent me their images to be used for Interclub competition. Entries for December competition are: Level A-Doug Wade "Blood Tears"; Pam Vick "Peacock 6541"; Ron Yagi "Disney Choo-Choo" and Shirley Airov-Bieling "Sunset With Sun Rays In Arizona." Level AA- Arliss Dawson "Glacier Lilly YS"; Sue Craft "House Boat"; Sue Liberto "Bluebird in Pink" and Holly Peskin "LaTulippe." Entries open Dec 13th for the Jan 2015 competition and close on Jan 3rd, with the judging on Jan 10th.
For S4C Interclub and to participate as an Individual, you MUST have a UEN to enter. If you do not have one, please go to the S4C website and request yours today (just takes about 5 min)! Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.
She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.
She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better
.She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.
Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.
Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
