PSA Report for April 2015

PSA Annual Conference, West Yellowstone: Registration is now open for the PSA Annual Conference will be held in West Yellowstone, Montana from September 27 to October 3, 2015. If anyone has not booked a room yet for the conference, there still are rooms available. Some of the tours are filling up. Tours will be to Oxbow Bend, Yellowstone Canyon, West Thumb/Hayden Valley, Old Faithful/Geyser Basins, Mammoth Hot Springs, and Midway Geyser Basin. Tours are available every day during the conference.
PSA Projected Image Division (Third Round): The Lancaster Photography Association did very well in the Photographic Society of America’s Projected Image Division (PID) third round. The Lancaster Photography Association earned a fourth place. Also competing were Fran Marroquin with “Looking Out” and Wayne Staley with “Sisters”. The Lancaster Photography Association currently is tied for second place in Group B.

Projected Image Division Creative (Third/Final Round): Entries for the Projected Image Division Creative Interclub Group B are the following: “Camera” (Diana Edgel), “Carousel Ride at Night” (Bonnie Matthews), “City in the Fall” (Darren Cole), “Cool Jump” (Rock Myers), “Dahlia 3807” (Nan Carder, EPSA), “Through Broken Eyes” (Kathy Newman).
PSA Nature Division Interclub (Third Round): Entries for the third and last round for the Nature Division Interclub are the following: “Bear 856 with Sockeye” (Tina Crowe), “Chimp Mother and Child” (Shirley Airov-Bieling), “Gentoo Open Mouthed Chick” (Christine Wilkins), “Leopard in Mid Jump” (David Wilkins), “Nesting Great Egret” (Holly Peskin), and “Open Wide” (Diane Cable).
PSA Photojournalism Interclub (Third Round): Entries for the third round for the Photojournalism Division interclub are the following: “Blue Angels 5898” (Nan Carder, EPSA), “Dancing with the Ball” (Tina Crowe), “Morning Mist on Natnek” (David Wilkins), “Please Help” (Doug Wade), “Proud Father” (Rock Myers), and “Tibetian Women Commiserating” (Richard Wood).
PSA Photo Travel Interclub (Third/Final Round): The third round entries of the Photo Travel Division are due on May 15th.
PSA Newsletter and Website Contest: The Lancaster Photography Association has entered the PSA Newsletter and Website Contest for 2015.
PSA Youth Photography Showcase: Entries are due by April 30th.
PSA 365-Day Gallery for PSA Members: PSA's 365-day galleries are going well. Each PSA member is invited to submit up to one image per day, using the 365-day-upload form and following the assignment of the day. You do not have to submit every day in order to participate. We have provided daily assignments to keep the gallery inspired and interesting. For more information, please go to this web site. PSA New Member: Rebecca Bieling and Kathy Newman are now PSA members.
PSA Coachella Valley Desert Camera Club: Results have been sent to exhibitors: Shirley Airov-Bieling had images accepted in the Color, Monochrome, and Nature classes. Nan Carder, EPSA won silver and two bronze medals in the Monochrome classes, and had an honorable mention in the Nature class. Darren Cole had his first acceptances in the Monochrome classes. Diana Edgel won an Honorable Mention in the Nature class and had acceptances in both Color and Monochrome classes. Scott Shackelford had an honorable mention in the Monochrome theme class and had acceptances in the Color, Monochrome, and Nature classes. Bill Sutton had acceptances in the Color, Monochrome, and Nature classes. Dale Ware won his first medal (bronze) and had one honorable mention in the Color class, plus acceptances in Color classes. David Wilkins won an honorable mention in the Color theme class and had acceptances in both Monochrome and Nature classes.
