California Desperadoes Field Trip

Saturday, June 13,2015 was blisteringly hot in the Antelope Valley. Nevertheless a large contingent of LPA photographers gathered for breakfast at Roxy’s in Palmdale. After a hearty meal, said photographers proceeded to the Vincent Hill Arena in Acton to photograph the California Desperadoes at the CMSA Southwest Regional (California Mounting Shooting Association). 

One event featured cowboys and cowgirls in Western attire shooting black powder pistols at 10 spaced balloons. Both horses and riders sported fancy gear. The afternoon event featured riders with shotguns shooting at balloons. In excess of 20 members including Bonnie and Dwight Franke, Sue Craft, Douglas Wade, Michael Tanner, Kathleen and Shane Walter, Don Bennett, Sarah Osenga, Sue Liberto, Wayne Staley, William and Marilyn Peake, Don Goeschl, Rock Myers, Carol Moss, Bill and Leslie Sutton, Ramon Rosario, Poul Westerlund, David and Chris Wilkins photographed at the arena throughout the day.
