Photobooks with Matt Cohen - October 25, 2022

On October 25, 2022 at 6:00, LPA is pleased to have Matt Cohen come and speak to us about creating photobooks. He will be speaking in-person at the Antelope Valley Senior Center and it will be shared on Zoom. He will share his techniques for making a self published photo book look as professional as possible.  We will learn from his lessons from the school of hard knocks, and he will go into depth on a few subjects relating to arranging photos, captions and copy editing.

He is hoping to inspire someone to make a photo book as a destination for images for a trip or event.

Matt Cohen is a retired attorney, now proud to be a professional photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. His pursuit of fine art travel photography began at Phoenix College and the New York Institute of Photography where he received Certificates in Digital Photography. The instructors encouraged and assisted him in producing work in photobooks, which have become one of the prime destinations for his photographs, along with museums, residences, businesses, stock photos, exhibits, prints, and publications. Areas of interest for him range from fine art portraits, such as ESPN lighting or Hollywood Lighting (as in his portrait above), to landscapes, travel, and special lighting. He enjoys working with Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw to bring out the best in an image and applying his extensive training and course work. Involvement with PSA for him has included attending conferences and outings, presenting a Webinar, training and serving as a judge for camera clubs, serving as a Commentator in a Digital Study Group, published in the PSA Gallery, serving as judge in PSA’s annual photo book competition, writing articles, and presenting programs on photo books and  photography.
