“Insights into Photography” by Marshall La Plante
Over 50 members were present tonight for a special digital photo presentation by photographer Marshall La Plante. He currently specializes in editorial work, with a focus on aerial action adventure, aircraft-to-aircraft, aerial scenic and extreme sports photography. He also has a passion for photographing Los Angeles cityscapes.
Marshall’s photos were unique, full of emotion, patterns, and vivid color. His comment, “no rules apply, think about what is marketable” adds a whole new level of creativity to photography.

Some of his aerial shots were taken while being piloted by LPA Member Todd Shultz (http://www.airspeedphoto.com/aviation.htm).
An exhibit of Marshall’s landmark 1980s documentary images of L.A. policemen working Skid Row is currently touring galleries in Southern California.
Club members had many questions for Marshall, and he was full of answers. His sense of humor was great too. Everyone enjoyed the program.
