S4C Report - August 2013
Even though S4C is on break until Oct, keep those pictures coming in to me. LPA did real good last year and I’d like to see us start the 2013-2014 year with a lot of fresh, new images to be considered for Interclub competitions. For S4C Interclub and to participate as an Individual, you MUST have a UEN to enter. If you do not have one, please go to the S4C website and request yours today (just takes about 5 min)! The first competition is October 13th with the entry opening Sept 15th and closing Oct 4th.
Judging just finished for the AV Fair and on August16th the fair opens…BUT for those who entered in the AV Fair, our members entered a lot of very nice images and did a very nice job at the fair. If everyone who entered in the fair would send me 2 or 3 images, I would have a nice pool of images to last a few months to choose from. When sending an image, please send me your UEN. Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.
She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.
She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better
.She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.
Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.
Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
