PSA Projector - October 2013
PSA Annual Conference, Portland, Maine: The PSA conference went well this year. Anita Kratofil volunteered at the conference registration desk and met most of the people at the conference. There were approximately 485 attendees. Brenda Tharpe gave two outstanding presentations. The model shoot was fun for even those who do not do model shoots. The tours were very good. The weather was nice once the rain stopped after the first two days. The PSA Annual Conference in 2014 will be in Albuquerque (right before the Balloon Festival), and in 2015 will be held in Yellowstone.
Newsletter Contest: The PSA Newsletter Contest Results were announced. There were 39 Large Clubs. The Lancaster Photography Association was 18th. David Wilkins received the Best Technical Article (tie) for his article “Get More Out of Lightroom Keywords.” Congratulations David.
Terri Garner has done a great job with the newsletter. Thank you, Terri. Terri also judged the PSA Small Club Newsletter Contest this year.
Website Contest: The Lancaster Photography Association participated in the large club entries and was eighth of 21 entries. Lee Garner is the Lancaster Photography Association web master and does an excellent job.
PSA Council Challenge Results: The Southern California Council of Camera Clubs was second in the Digital Color Images and was fourth in the Monochrome Images. Members and their images from the Lancaster Photography Association were the following:

PSA Photojournalism Division Interclub Competition (Fourth Round): The results of the fourth round of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Photojournalism Inter-club were released, and congratulations go to Tina (BMX Biker) Crowe and Sharna Lee (J. Aguilar) for winning Honorable Mentions in Group A.
The Lancaster Photography Association (LPA) placed third overall in Group A for the 2012-2013 season. Participating this year were the following: Bruce Cable, Diane Cable, Nan Carder, Tina Crowe, Lee Garner, Helen Henry, Sharna Lee, Sue Liberto, Scott Shackelford, Dale Ware, Chris and David Wilkins. The 2013-2014 PSA Interclub competitions are starting this month.
PSA Nature Interclub (First Round): The Lancaster Photography Association entries for the first round of the PSA Nature Interclub are the following: “Posturing Bears” Don Bennett, “Fishing” Tina Crowe, “Pronghorn 125” Arliss Dawson,” Pronghorn Antelope with Babies” Dale Ware, “Polar Bear” Chris Wilkins, and “Polar Bear with Seal” David Wilkins.
Ocean State International Exhibition: Any Lancaster Photography Association member can enter the PSA Ocean State International Exhibition.

Entries close October 26, 2013. The maximum file size is 800 kb, and the maximum dimensions are 1024 px on the horizontal side and 768 px on the vertical side.
Everyone should enter their best images that have not been accepted in this exhibition. Please refer to the LPA home web page for more information.
