Prime Desert Preserve Cleanup, Jan. 31 2015
Come Help Us Beautify Our Preserve, January 31, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM - Prime Desert Woodland Preserve, 43201 35th St West (at K-8), Lancaster
As a follow up to the January 17 MLK Day of Service Prime Desert garbage (paper products) pick up, LPA members and friends are invited to do further clean up at the Preserve on Saturday, January 31, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
We will be focusing on removing non-degradables like glass, metal and plastics, which heavily dot the landscape in some areas, and some of which have been there since before the Preserve opened.
The terrain is sandy and sometimes wet, so dress accordingly, and in layers for the morning. Suggested items to bring are: sturdy work gloves and/or gardening gloves, a small hand trowel, a tarp and/or low stool and/or a gardening knee cushion, a bucket or utility bucket.
One of the park rangers will help us locate some of the more concentrated spots. My dream goal is to have 10 (or more) volunteers. If you can’t come for the entire 4 hours, any time you can offer will be helpful. If anyone would like to participate but would rather not bend and kneel, it would be nice to have someone act as our photographer.
Participants will be asked to sign a City of Lancaster liability waiver.
You need to be a current LPA member and logged into this site to sign up.
