This is our last competition for the 2014-2015 competition year.

Update-Bruce Cable received an Award for his “Blue Angeles Information.”

S4C competitions are held monthly between October of one year and April of the following year. They are either judged in person along with an S4C meeting (normally in November and April) or remotely (normally the other months). Be sure to mark your calendars!

Also, you can now start signing up for the fabulous S4C Annual Awards and Installation Banquet on June 6th at Almansor Court, 700 South Almansor Street, Alhambra, CA 91801. Go to http://www.s4c-photo.org/banquet/ to get your tickets.

We had our Delegates meeting and Stuart Lynn gave the following information during his Presidents report. *We have 30% club participation increase from last year. *Lee Garner will be taking over as Competition Chair at the end of the Banquet. *S4C Definition are mirroring PSA. *For EOY High Point, they take the top 12 images instead of 14.

LPA was given high praise for their website and their Facebook. Other clubs use us as a model and a reference guide. Good job LPA!

They had a Board meeting after the Delegates meeting which Nan Carder gave me this update.

For S4C Interclub and to participate as an Individual, you MUST have a UEN to enter. If you do not have one, please go to the S4C website and request yours today (just takes about 5 min)! When sending an image, please send me your UEN. If you have any questions about S4C or wish to send me images, please email me at bonniejmatthews@hotmail.com.

New Business:

I would like to see as a part of our Membership Process, we obtain the members UEN for them and in their Welcome letter include their new UEN number. This way every member will have a UEN but more importantly we can enter their images for Interclub for them and advise them as we are doing so. This can be worked out between the membership chair and the S4C Interclub Chair.

by Bonnie J Matthews-Franke

Bonnie has been taking pictures since she was a little girl, but she didn't get into digital photography until about 2009, just before she joined the club.

Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.

She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.

She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better Smile.
She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.

Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.

Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
