S4C News

Reminder: S4C competitions are held monthly between October of one year and April of the following year. They are either judged in person along with an S4C meeting (normally in November and April) or remotely (normally the other months). Be sure to mark your calendars! Go to http://www.s4c-photo.org/schedule

Also, time is running out for you to sign up for the S4C Annual Awards and Installation Banquet on June 6th at Almansor Court, 700 South Almansor Street, Alhambra, CA 91801. Go to http://www.s4c-photo.org/banquet/ to get your tickets.

I have enclosed an “Application For An S4C UEN (Uniform Entry Number) Must Be A Member Of An S4C Member Club” that I created with Stuart Lynn’s approval. Stuart had specific language he wanted inserted which I complied with and he was happy. The form now has been shared with a couple of other clubs, minus our information.  I have this form as a Word.docx and pdf It can be given out at the meetings where the member can sign in person and date. It is NOT to go online and be sent in to us pre-dated and signed. The S4C Delegate, S4C Interclub Chair or Club President MUST the ones submitting the information and completing the information under “Office Use Only.” The member is always invited to obtain their own UEN. This is only to assist them.

If there are any questions, my new emails are:

For Interclub: S4CInterclub@LPAphotography.org

 For S4C Delegate: S4CDelegate@LPAphotography.org

by Bonnie J Matthews-Franke

Bonnie has been taking pictures since she was a little girl, but she didn't get into digital photography until about 2009, just before she joined the club.

Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.

She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.

She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better Smile.
She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.

Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.

Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
