Images may not be constructed entirely within a computer.

Regardless of how many times it is entered into however many Divisions, the same image must always bear exactly the same title. (An image entered into Monochrome may have the abbreviation mono or bw appended. An image entered into Creative may be titled differently from the original image(s) from which it was derived).

This limitation of 35 characters includes any ‘qualifiers’ used for the maker’s convenience to distinguish images that would otherwise have the same title. Apart from such qualifiers, titles must be composed of understandable words or common acronyms; no digits are permitted in this part of the title (use ‘Two Flowers’ rather than ‘2 Flowers&rsquoWink. Any qualifiers are limited in length to 5 characters plus, if required, an additional optional qualifier to indicate that the image is a monochrome version (Mono or BW).

The definitions of Photo Travel and Photojournalism (General and Human Interest) to conform to new PSA definitions that will become effective in January. Among other improvements these revised definitions place greater restrictions on posed or setup images.

The definition of what Alterations are allowed in the three reality-based divisions (NaturePhoto Travel, and Photojournalism) has been refined to conform to the new PSA definitions for Photo Travel and Photojournalism.

Borders in the three reality-based divisions are optional but must be white or a shade of grey and must be 3 or 4 pixels in width. Borders of 1 or 2 pixels are no longer allowed since they often result in uneven presentation because of jpeg compression.

by Bonnie J Matthews-Franke

Bonnie has been taking pictures since she was a little girl, but she didn't get into digital photography until about 2009, just before she joined the club.

Matthews-Franke finds the club to be very beneficial to her. The interaction with other members, being able to ask questions, the workshops and the knowledge that I take away from the club is phenomenal.

She believes the meetings, workshops and field trips are very beneficial, specially to the new members. Her favorites were the Fall Color Trips; Mono Lake Trips and the workshops were she had her camera and could play along.

She love landscapes. She just finished a vacation trip to Oregon where she photographed lighthouses, old barns and covered bridges. The older the structure the better Smile.
She also loves portraits, and shooting in her own studio.

Matthews-Franke has more than a few Canon's, a Canon 7D, a Canon 5D MKII and a few more with a variety of lenses and accessories. Her favorite lens is a 28-135mm ,70-200mm. & 100mm.

Matthews-Franke was our secretary of the club for a few years and helped made many changes to help us grow.
