General Meeting Minutes – October 18th, 2016

Attendance # 37

Douglas Wade welcomed the 37 members to our general meeting and Human Interest Competition. Diane Racey was the judge.

He reminded everyone to make sure to sign in electronically as we are no longer using a sign-in sheet.

Diane Racey was introduced by Bonnie Matthews-Franke. Diane Racey joined her first camera club in 1981 and was a school photography from 1982 until she retired in 2012. She has been a very active member of PSA since 1985, as well as an active member of S4C and their Vice President for approximately the last fifteen years. She started her photographic expedition in the darkroom with black and white, and then ventured into the digital world. She has a background in Fine Arts. Diane has over 3000 acceptances in PSA recognized exhibitions in all divisions except large prints and 3D (Stereo).

The competition had a total of 33 digital entries and 9 print entries. For print entries, there were 9 Accomplished. For digital entries, there were 9 Novice entries, 12 Amateur, 6 Advanced and 6 Master. All the winners are congratulated. We all learned from the great critiques that Diane gave. Ron Yagi took a picture when Bonnie presented Diane with a certificate and check. He also took a picture of all the winners.

Welcome from Shirl Airov-Bieling - there were no visitors but Jeff is new to the group.

Doug Wade reminded the group that you can see Don Sullivan to join LPA and that you must be a current member to participate in the competitions.
