This trip will be held on Friday, July 27th at 8:30 am. Carpooling is encouraged. We will meet in front of Good Stuff Restaurant (on the beach just north of the pier). Participants should bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and other necessities. You may also want to bring a beach chair or towel to sit on. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

Preferred lenses for beach volleyball are the 70-200 and the 24-70, but any lens will work. If using a larger lens (70-200, 300, 100-400), a monopod might be helpful.

John will give us a short talk about photographing beach volleyball and will go over some ground rules for the event. He'll discuss the basic settings we can use to get started. We will then go to one of the courts for a quick demonstration of the best positions to use for shooting and then split up to try the techniques on our own.

Parking: There is a public parking garage located at the corner of Hermosa Ave. and 13th Street (one street north of Pier Ave.). You will need to make note of your parking space number and pay with a credit card in the machine after you park. There is also a public lot at Hermosa Ave. and 11th Street. There is metered street parking in the area as well.
