Is there any place online where you can submit a photo, and somone can tell you what to do in photoshop to better your image? So far the critique section here, seems like it's not generating alot of response. Thanks..

Ya, most LPA members don't participate in the forum much. Some just lurk but never log in to leave a response. We've had the forum up before but took it down cuz no one was using it. It's been a little better this time around. Eventually I think it will pick up. Most members haven't discovered it yet.
I think most of the problem is that a majority of our members are older aged so they are not as tec savvy as other groups. Most of them don't even know what a forum is.

You're best bet would be someplace like the below link. Its a forum retouch section on dpreview. You should get a lot of helpful hints there but I would start just by reading all the posts. There is a lot to be learned. Check out the other forums too.

Sharon,
I belong to another online forum. forums.popphoto.com
There are a bunch of people that are very skilled in different aspects of photoshop.
I've also been learning photoshop by reading numerous books. Scott Kelby is very good and easy to understand.
Martin Evening is detailed. And Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a book is good also.
But if you want to submit a photo for critic and have someone help you to better understand photoshop then I recommend popphoto.com.
Good luck.

Sharna

Adobe photoshop CS3 or *CS put your program name* For digital photographers. That's the one I use the most.

Best bang for the buck (in my opinion) would be Kelby training online. They have quite a few videos on Photoshop and other related subjects that you can watch online for $20 a month. Just sign up for 30 days and watch what you want and skip all the stuff you already know.
I think you can view the first few videos free if you want to get a preview of how it works.

There are also a lot of video podcasts on ITunes you can watch for free. Layers magazine is one of them that comes to mind but there are others. That's definitely worth checking out.

Mark Johnson used to have Photoshop Workbenches at "The Radiant Vista" but he recently moved his stuff to his own website at http://www.msjphotography.com/index.php<;!-- m -->. You can view many video Workbenches and tutorials there. You can also submit your own photos to the Workbench. In my opinon he is a very good instructor.
