Hi everyone,
Well, I have asked all of my friends if they want to go shooting with me sometime and they all say "sure" but when the moment comes down they all are either busy or don't want to get up early to go shooting.
My family is the same way. It's like trying to pull eye teeth to get them to go shooting with me. And early? No way.
I figure if I join LPA I can find at least one female that wants to go shooting and doesn't mind getting up early to catch the "good light".
I say female because I'm married and my husband would be just a little upset if I went out with a guy. Smile
I don't like going out alone, for one it's not safe and for two it's pretty lonely. Frown
So.....If you're in the antelope valley and you have some free time send me a message or leave a post here and we'll get together and go shooting sometime. I have a couple of weeks before I go in for back surgery so after that I'll be a little out of the loop so to speak for a while. But when I do start to heal I would love to continue my photography. I have a car so getting somewhere isn't a problem.
If interested please send me a message or leave one here.

Thanks.

Did you see the calendar. We have a field trip comming up. U dont necessarly have to stay 3 days. U could just go up and back the same day. Of course thats a lot of driveing. It would be better if you could stay overnight. we meet for breakfast, drive up, and shoot the rest of the day. Usually dinner, etc. Lots of people going, and lots of females.

email sent. Thanks Behnaz. I'm looking forward to meeting with you tomorrow to go take some pictures. Big Grin

Arley,
I will be unable to make that trip this time. I have to go in for pre-op that weekend.
I look forward to going out with the group sometime after I heal.

Thanks so much.

Hey Sharon,
Yes I'd like that very much. I'm still not able to go "out" by myself just yet. I am still recovering from my back surgery but when I feel up to it we can go shoot something. Big Grin
Thanks for replying.

Male or female, a photo friend would be nice. My wife passed away 3 years ago - pneumonia. Now on my own and retired from the military, I have nothing but time on my hands except for when I'm at the nature preserve doing my wildlife thing.

Yeah, if anyone here (an LPA member) gets a wild hair and wants to head out for a photo op, I'm ready. You just have to be tollerant of a novice. Me and my Nikon D80 mistress are always ready.

Don,
There's a couple things going on Dec. 7th. I'm sure everyone wouldn't mind if you tagged along.
I'm going to be on the Willowsprings track with a few people from here. I've taken quite a few pictures of the motorcycles. Your wildlife preserve sounds like an awesome place to take photo's. I've been here all my life and I've never seen it. That would be somewhere I'd be interested in going also.
Thanks for the reply.

As the new guy, I'm trying to get my feet wet as best I can. It's only been a full day now that I've had access to the deeper regions of this website and news of upcoming events in geater detail.

The photo op at Willowsprings sounds good. I'd also like to attend the Piute Ponds gig, but if they change the date to the 8th, that wrecks it for me. Willowsprings and what takes place there is kinda out of my photog league only because I'm more into nature and wildlife as subjects. Nonetheless, I'm game to learn something new. What the heck, I might grow to like racing as a photo subject.

Don,
When I started photography a couple of years ago I only wanted to shoot nature. Then I got "lost" one day while shooting hawks and found myself out near willowsprings raceway. I figured what the heck so I paid the 10.00 and went in. I managed only to find myself near the front of the track. I didn't know how to get to any of the turns and was to shy to ask anyone for directions. LOL Oops! But I managed to get some pretty good shots and also from my photo's I saw that I could go farther around the track then I had been.
The next time I asked the guy at the gate and he told me to follow this one road by the Kart tracks. I found the turns and I got some really, really good pictures. I posted them on another forum and the people told me that I did great. I love shooting the tracks. But I also love shooting nature too. Your place sounds wonderful. I look forward to your photo op too. I hope to be healed better from my surgery by then and able to walk around for a longer period of time.
Which ever you decide I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Sharna:

Part of the initial concept behind joining LPA was to be introduced to new photo ops that would provide new levels of experience. Yeah, I do like nature photog a lot for there I find peace and tranquility I can call my own.

I haven't been out to Willow Springs for ages. The last time I was there I watched midget stock car races. Small versions of regular stock cars, these were powered by 1100cc motorcycle engines.

If we can get into good photo op slots at the track where we can get or attempt great shots, so much the better.

As for getting together at the preserve, after the first of the year, perhaps, once things calm down a little. I hope that we would have a good LPA turn out, but we'll see.
