Sue Craft wins medal in PSA CPID's Best of the Best


Club News

Earlier this year, Sue Craft won an Award in the Color Projected Imaging Division's interclub competition (Group C) for her image Yosemite Valley View.

All of the award winning images in Group C for this season were then judged in the Best of the Best competition at the end of this competition year.

We are pleased to say that Sue won a PSA medal in this year's Group C which will be awarded at the PSA conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado in September. There are five medalists in this group.

Final PSA Creative Competition Completed


Club News

The last competition for the 2010-2011 season is now completed and congratulations goes to Helen Henry for receiving an honorable mention with her Textured Poppy. Earlier this year Helen also won an honorable mention for the same image in the PSA CPID Individual creative competition. Our club ended up with a total of 50 points in this competition.

S4C Interclub Winners: LPA's Don Bennett Wins Best of Show


Club News

The Lancaster Photography Association would like to congratulate Don Bennett for winning the Best of Show for all of the interclub images at the S4C banquet held June 4th in Alhambra. His image Cheetah won over all competitors in all skill levels. All images may be viewed on line on the LPA website in the S4C competition area.

Lancaster Photography ended up second in the Skill Level AA group and third in the Skill Level A group.

Third Round PSA PJ Results


Club News

The results from the third round of the PSA Photojournalism has been announced, and congratulations go to Sharna Lee for her image Sunburst. She received 1st Honorable Mention in the Photojournalism part. Dale Ware with his image Embera Indians Panama received 5th Honorable Mention with his image in Photojournalism Human Interest. Overall club results are still pending.

Images from the October DVD Used by PDWP


Club News
Selected images from the DVD made from the October competition plus other submitted images have been used by the Prime Desert Woodland Preserve for promotion and educational purposes. LPA members made posters from some of the images and they were used at the Prime Desert display at the California Poppy Festival. Other images are displayed inside the building to illustrate the plants and animals that can found inside the preserve.

Thanks to the generosity of LPA members who contributed over $1,300.00 the club was able to purchase a 46-inch Sony Bravia flat screen television, a mount for the television and a memorial plaque to be hung with the television. The television and mount were delivered to the Prime Desert on April 19th. AV Trophy will deliver the plaque within the next month. The City of Lancaster will do the installation of the television. When all is in place there will be a formal ceremony at the Prime Desert Interpretive Center and advance notice and details will be forthcoming on the LPA website.

Club Members Receive HM's at S4C


Club News

The last S4C Interclub competition was done last weekend, and Jodi Champagne (Comp Motor 2 A Division) and Don Bennett (Cheetahs AA Division) both received Honorable Mentions. Our members did very well this year, and it has been a pleasure entering our LPA images in the S4C competitions this year (from Helen and me).
