FIELD TRIP: CALICO GHOST TOWN/CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT

On Saturday, February 19, 2011, join us for a field trip into the past at the Calico Ghost Town Civil War Reenactment. There will be lots opportunities at this event for some great photographs as the actors will have Confederate and Union Camps set up, Drills, Music, Battles, Living History Displays, Fashion Shows, People in Period Costumes and an Old Cemetery (at the south end of the parking lot), all of which will be great subjects for the May LPA Photo Competition which will be “Step Into the Past”.

The gates open at 9:00 A.M. for this event, so we will meet outside the Calico House Restaurant at 9:15 A.M. for the group photo (to help you find the Calico House Restaurant go to www.calicotown.com/townmap/ ). There will be a $10 per person per day entry fee for adults, and $5 per person per day for juniors (6-15) payable at the gate. The Civil War Reenactment will take place at Calico rain or shine, so be sure to dress warmly. Calico Ghost Town is located 10 miles northeast of Barstow off of I-15 at Ghost Town Road.
[Calico Ghost Town’s Civil War Reenactment is a three day event which runs February 18, 19 & 20, 2011 however, participation in this event as an LPA Field Trip will be for Saturday, February 19th only.]
