Field Trip - Aquarium of the Pacific - 10/19/2019

LPA will be going on a field trip to Aquarium of the Pacific on October 19, 2019. Kathy Newman will be the point person for this trip. We will meet in front of the aquarium at 10:00 for a group photo and then spend the next few hours exploring the aquarium and its environs. It is open until 6:00. There are many great exhibits to photograph, including frogs, coral reef, sharks, jelly fish, sea otters, penguins, lorikeets and more!
Feel free to arrange your own car pools down to save on gas costs. It takes about 1-1/2 hours from Lancaster to the Aquarium in Long Beach.
Pictures taken will be eligible for the Nature competition in January as long as you cannot see any man-made objects in the picture.
Some photo tips are:
- Bring a rubber hood for your lens, it will help reduce any glare you may get from the glass.
- You shouldn’t use flash because of glass glare, so use the fastest lens you can.
- Tripods are not permitted.
- Focus on subjects nearer the glass. Water will diffuse and distort subjects farther away, resulting in a softer image.

Hope to see you all there!
