General Meeting & "Vehicle" Competition Night: July 17, 2013
Douglas Wade, our Vice President, welcomed over 40 members to our “Vehicles” competition night.
Our new competition chairs Tina Crowe and co-chair Bill Sutton pulled the event off flawlessly. Our judge this evening was Suzanne Gonzalez. She is the president of the Glendora Camera Club. She has been a photographer since 1977. She has attended Tri-Community Photography Program/School for almost 20 years continuously and sells photo packages to schools, groups, weddings, and special events. She was accompanied by Diane Racey, who offered additional comments during the critique session. We had 69 digital entries and 16 prints. Congratulations to all the winners!
For print entry participants, we had 2 novices, 2 amateurs, 0 advanced amateurs and 4 masters. We would like to encourage more of you to enter prints. Your competition chairs and board members have been discussing consolidating the print divisions. If you want to keep 4 divisions, more of you need to enter prints. Hint: This month there were 18 entries in the advanced amateur digital competition and 0 in the advanced amateur prints. Next up October – Human Interest.
Check out all the entries on the results page.
Members were reminded to get their membership card for the senior center and to swipe it each time they visit. LA County will be tracking use of facility and we need to show them that it is well used by our photography group.
